I like chocolate and I like mustard, but I don't put the two together.

In the same vein, I like Hawaiian shirts and I like military vehicles, but.....

Hello Jordan.

That is an interesting set of photos you have in Post 216. They raise a lot of questions.

What Canadian Army units were based in the Hastings area in 1942 that would have been equipped with, or servicing, Otters?

Was Harold Road on part of a regular route to or from the base for said unit, or was this vehicle just out for a road test or sight seeing?

Why does it appear these Otter photos do not seem to show either A-Set or B-Set aerial installations on it, or the Bren Gun Mount at the front of the Turret?

I like your shirt, by the way.

David

I think early WW2 wireless sets in vehicles were still fairly scarce; Jordan's project has traces of W/T markings on the side, indicating that it was so equipped.

Canadian armoured cars may well have had a different armament to the British ones; Lewis, Vickers or .30 Browning rather than Bren at that stage of the war, too.

Ditto, it's a nice "sky blue" - something I could do with right now instead of the continuous cold rain I get every time I poke my nose out of the house.

There's stuff I want to do (without getting soaked) this month.

Chris.

David.

Hastings and area was full of Canadian Army units so its not something easily narrowed down.

The turret does have the bren AA mounts. It is just hard to see.

@Bruce Parker, come on Bruce, be a sport. I’m thinking all you armoured car guys could be sporting these. Where’s Peter Duggan at? Not sure if I could rock one with Mules all over it?
