Default Ford CMP- High beam indicator

Hi Mariano,

These photos may help.

The high beam indicator is in the middle of the top 3 fittings. The jewel can be seen inside the lamp holder fitting. To its left is the starter button and to its right is the inspection lamp socket.

Separate photo is the jewel, lamp holder fitting and the lamp holder for the high beam indicator. The jewel is held at its collar by the lamp holder fitting. It has 4 spring loaded feet. You push the holder fitting down on the jewel and slide it sideways to engage the keyhole then release the tension on the feet to hold it all together. Lamp holder, with lamp, fits into rear of fitting.

Cheers,

With these photos, I now understand why the dash harness I have, has three lamp holders.

Late Ford CMPs like my FGT have a dash with a raised shape on the left side, see photo, and it appears to cover the defroster slot. Have you seen it in previous models? Any other reason for its shape?

Hi Mariano, you and I wondered about why your attachments do not show up as thumbnails. I edited the above posting and found out that the file you initally uploaded has an incorrect format - see the error message I got after trying to reupload your attachment. I opened your photo in photo editing software and saved it as a JPG file and then it shows up fine.
