The civilian trucks had a handle on the hood side panel. I thought the LRDG truck would be the same.

Hi.
Just checked my photos of that truck in the Imperial War Museum and it indeed has the side hood latches. Cheers Phil

Thank you Gentlemen, I assumed that was the case, but bearing in mind the historical importance and rarity of the vehicle, I just wanted to make very sure of my information to prevent any unnecessary damage to the exhibit.
