I need help. I have been Googling Malayan Emergency armoured vehicles and located this site https://www.legendsofthedragonfly.co...LADgIXY8JHiAC4
While the article describes a Daimler armoured car the two photos clearly show a vehicle much larger with a substantial turret. After examining the photos I 'think' they show a GM Fox as we know that type was used in Malaya post WW2 but I'm not certain. I think it is because: - size and body shape - mudguard shape - small port/hatch on the turret side - the raised engineering deck However I'm not so sure because: - the spare wheel stowed on the side is not standard Fox stowage - the zig-zag top of the hull side armour in the second photo - the front of the turret in photo one appears to be missing any weapon mantlet rather has an opening hatch. Perhaps it has been modified from and armoured car to a scout car which is more in keeping with its Police role My first two doubts do however match a Humber Armoured Car. What do you think? Have I just identified yet another type of armoured vehicle that was used in the Emergency ![]() Paul Last edited by dcrfan; 28-08-22 at 04:32. |

The pics show a checkerboard that is Humber and not Fox. If you send me the evidence you have I can tell you whether it's Fox or Humber,

The lower photo is quite definitely a Humber, confirmed by a couple of details. The text is very confusing as it mostly refers to a Daimler Dingo scout car apart from the reference to two fuel tanks and a capacity of about 4 times larger.

To confuse the issue still further, it is clear from several of my references concerning the Malayan Emergency that the Humber Scout Car was often referred to as a Dingo.
The real Dingoes often had a turret installed as a local Malayan modification, as the open roof was vulnerable. Chris |

While this thread is about collecting info on the Fox AC, I thought it might be more useful to post this here rather than the "Spotted on Ebay" section:

If you buy from their website, it may work out to be far cheaper then via eBay.
