At this juncture I am suggesting that Ford Canada produced their own transfer cases based on the McKinnon one, itself based on the Timken-Detroit originals.

Anyone ever notice that the speedo drive/idler cover (2 speed box at least) have a different bolt pattern and are one of the few bits not interchangable ?

Obviously there was a considerable degree of interchangeability which reflects my suggestion but clearly there were also aspects that did not interchange.
