There are exceptions of course..the mk2 carrier and lynx filters come to mind. There is only old stock.
As Hanno has stated, this is a common problem in Europe which we both experienced with our F15A and C15A respectively.
The above mentioned filter fit, but the provided gasket did not.
The previous owner had the same problem, and thus continued to apply liquid silicone sealing kit on top of the original gasket.
Unfortunately during the last oil change, it was ruptured to the point beyond repair.

This prompted me go to go in search of a fitting gasket.
