Not to hijack a XII Manitoba Dragoon thread, but following up on the story about the veteran Staghound driver, I had a similar experience with a IV PLDG Fox driver. He reacquainted with his old mount (and personal weapon) and I couldn't be prouder to give him the opportunity. Interestingly, he was in his chair somewhat ignored when a news reporter and camera showed up. He quietly began talking about his war experience and within minutes the camera was forgotten and a ring of people were around him hanging on every word.
As they say, a good day was had by all. |
