the earlier ones where 85 hp engines , but still with the 24 stud heads , the T16 engines where 95 Hp , but given the description 100.
Vehicle engines don`t have the treaded holes to connect the oil cooler , so a carrier engine is recognizable by these treaded holes at the back of he engine .
Later carrier engines had the 95 hp engine , but I don`t know from what date they changed.

Maurice, I wonder if your suggestion ‘later carrier engines had the 95 hp engine’ could be too broad? Perhaps you be referring to the Canadian produced Windsor carriers?

The Canadian Ford Major Assemblies catalog shows all Canadian MK-I* and MK-II* universal carriers used the 85 hp engine, identified by the “81” or “C81” in the block casting near the right hand water pump housing. It is reported by GREGG there was a brief temporary period in Canadian WWII field operations when the 95 hp engine was used as a replacement.

Note the base adapter in the images posted by SuperDave that allows the governed Zenith carb (single barrel) to fit the intake manifold. Also of note for those using other carbs is the profile of the air horn. The bayonet style will not readily adapt to the issue air cleaner elbow of the oil bath air cleaner.
