thanks Guys for the replies. I am running the standard 12 volt T16 negative earth system. I had thought of fitting one of the old British Lucas regulators within the box that is originally there. I have fitted an electronic distributor to the T16, a marvellous thing, but it needs a good strong battery. I have run the Carrier for the last couple of outings just on the battery charge prior to use. Time to get it charging again. So two or three options, there, thanks Ron and Hanno for the leads on electronic regulators which I will look into.
