Since Almasy (as per my best knowledge) did NOT use the big Chevys during operation SALAAM at all, those trucks on the foto MUST be the ones the Germans found parked in the desert. They took the fuel and puttet sand inside the fueltanks to make the trucks useless! They reported them as being LRDG-Trucks but it can be assumed that they have belonged to the SDF which was supporting the LRDG garrison at KUFRA that time...
