The yellow trailer is actually short like the B&W except that someone added an extra panel to the sides - you can see the forward panel is more rusted than the rest, even though it is newer. The joint lines are obvious when you look at the trailer. This is confirmed by the data plate giving the model as 4M-F-GS-2 and listing the matching S/M number.

According to the AEDB record, these trailers were developed for Ministry of Supply contract S/MECH. 6409, in other words for UK use. That leaves the question of why there are actually any found in Canada. Perhaps orders cancelled due to excess buildup of transport in UK? Perhaps they were declared large and expensive in relation to their two ton capacity (and volume carried). There is no mention of specialist fittings in the AEDB record so I doubt that is related. These are only theories - nothing known to suggest them as fact...

There was also a "3 Ton - 12 ft. - 4 Wheel G.S. Trailer" that used the 12' body normally mounted on Ford and Dodge MCP trucks that looked similar to the yellow trailer pictured. This was model 6M-F-GS-1.

Also a similar looking "5 Ton - 13'6" ft. - 4 Wheel G.S. Trailer" model 11M-F-GS-1. This had air brakes instead of the impact/over-run brakes used on the models above. Tires were upgraded from 9.00x16 to 10.50x16.

Other trailers were:
"QMG MT" trailers built on chassis like the 5 ton GS that added drop side panels on both sides that could be used as a work platform and carried auxiliary equipment used for MT maintenance and was towed by the QMG MT Machinery Lorry.
"Brake Drum and Surface Grinder" similar appearance, equipped as the name suggests.
"60 Ton Press" similar appearance, equipped as the name suggests.
I think these three were based on the 3 ton chassis but am not certain as there are conflicting details printed in the AEDB design Record and the Maintenance Manuals and Spare Parts Lists.
