The grommet suggests it was meant to pass through a sheet metal enclosure, doesn't seem to suggest chorehorse application... but this is only a guess.
I don't have a good enough mental image of the CPP to make intelligent comment but Peter Simundson posted a photo of CPP with similar looking cable (but not a grommet?) http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=20182
