Default Autovac

Ah yes the Autovac. The needle / seat in those military updraft Morris carbies can only handle low fuel pressure . The Morris Minor and S1 Land Rover SU pump would be an ideal fitup in a CS8/C4 because of the low 1.5 psi output. BTW the carbies were a special military dustproof design without a acc. pump system.

Happy Christmas!!!!!!

As Richard stated mine has a mechanical lift pump, so this should dictate the required fuel pressure. when I bought the vehicle it had been converted, sort of, to a down draft carb set up, pictured below. I think the carb is off of a Bedford, others will know better but the bore is much smaller than the Morris carb. I have reinstalled an up draft carb but the one thing that I can't work out is how the choke cable and return spring is attached at the carb end. The workshop manual shows a bracket, which of course I don't have, with both attached but where and how does the bracket attach, help!!!! .

Have a good one,

Jon

Default Manual

Hi Jonathan

The 4x2 manual 101/ML3 has a drawing of the choke cable setup. Ill try to scan the drawing but the library is closed til Friday. The original carbies have a code number on them that relates to which model they fit.

The 4x4 with the 4 cyl. EH engine carby is S92/164

Many thanks Mike, I did my choke a bit different but in Queensland we don't need a choke. I will take a photo and post tomorrow.

Put my choke here as The cable wasn't long enough to go on the dash, never used it yet.
