Hi Wayne

Yours may be a Canadair Sabre Mk 6, the best sabre. Sold directly to the SAAF. Does your have a number in evidence? There are lots of photos of SA Sabres.

They had quite the rate of incidents: "Mechanic sucked into intake during engine ground-run."

I have a Royal Air Force "Pilot's Notes for Sabre Mk. 4" if you're interested.

In RAF service, it was also called the Sabre F.4.

regards
Darrell
