It makes a huge difference on my truck, problem with opening the windscreen is if you don't have the hood well sealed (though this might not be a problem on Pat 11) opening the windscreen means you get hot air blowing in around the hood. This is particularly noticeable if you are sitting still or moving slowly such as in a parade.

Good point. Although not an original factory fit, my Cab 11 had been 'field-modified' with the hooks and my intention is to reinstate them.
