Default before anything else.....

Make sure the cover and forks are in the neutral position before you start lowering the cover....

......make sure the shifting forks line up with the groves in the tranny for both fork.......using a small flashlight and lowering slowly will help.... the shift rings in the tranny MUST line up with the descending forks.
