Mike, there was not anything left on the tray to indicate where it was made, I would assume that the tray was locally made.
The locker boxes and tyre carrier were built to a much higher standard and closer tolerances than the tray so it would be safe to assume that these were separate manufacturing identities. There are at least three different species of timber in the construction,I assumed that in 1942 they would have used whatever was at hand in seasoned timber. There was a rectangular zinc plate caught under the headboard that said in part "maximum allowed weight 7500 lbs, General Motors Canada", I made the assumption that this plate came with the chassis etc and was fixed somewhere on the body after assembly in Oz. regards, Robert
