What a fantastic film. After watching it (about a dozen times) I will no longer apologize if I make bumpy starts or stops while driving my carrier. What I won't do is dismount from the commander's position by placing my hands on the front left fender and rolling forward to the ground like the guy does about 3 minutes in.

Bet the low angle fire from the mortar was ringing the commander's bell with him crouched under the muzzle in the gunner's pulpit. Take his head right off if he rose up at the wrong time.

Yes indeed, neat how 3 of them share the arc of fire for the Bren Gun too.

Watching it yet again, this time for details about the carriers. The headlamps would indicate a Canadian Mk.1* carrier. There are some 'field modifications'. There is no aerial base and the smoke discharger bracket on the right side is removed and the holes bolted shut as is typical on mortar carriers, yet these are clearly Mk.1's. The flare box has been moved from the forward right engine cover to the bin in the front to the left of the commander. Is that an 11 set in the right rear or some other added storage box? No markings whatsoever, removed in case the film fell into enemy hands?

Bruce, doesn’t the engine cover firing rest look higher and non standard?, I’ve watched a lot of these early training videos but this shows a lot of useful internal details, does anyone else have links to other useful videos?.
