Default Waterproof dizzy and carbs.....

IN USA junk yards North of Pittsburgh they had US mid 1950 air compressor equipped with Chrysler hemi V8 with full waterproof set up..... most of the engines were removed....guess for what..... with boxes of loose waterproof distributor and waterproof 2 bbl carburators.......

.....also had some small 283 GM V8 with full waterproof kit..... mounted on generators/welders of some sort...... plus rows upon rows of blue forward control air force jeep pickups....... originally had 3 cylinder diesels engines..... all engines had been removed to sell to Amish/Mennonite farms to power dairy farm equipment.

.....also had some M37 fire tenders....equipped with mechanical tachometers driven from special waterproof distributor.......

....ah the good old days!!!

That is a Cdn number which was replaced by a US part number of 2920-00-671-4551 (obsolete in Canada). The reference is that it's a distributor applicable to a compressor, rotary, 250CFM which would seem to tie in with what Bob was talking about..

Little wonder I had never seen one....I wasn't born when they were in service. Thankfully we have more seasoned veterans like Bob to have seen these.
