I was referring to the gun tractor by using a CCKW instead of a FAT. Or if it doesn't matter use one of your other big boys to pull a 25pdr...
Did they actually tow a 25pdr with a M37???

Yes, but mostly as funeral carriages.
The 25 pdr, with it's spades very close to the lunnette, is very picky about what tows them. Even the artillery tractor without it's limber leads to problems. When people ask for the tractor and gun for functions like funeral parade or public events, we talk them into taking the Limber as well to prevent damage to the truck and gun. God help you if you need to back up more than a foot though. |
