Your kindness is exceeded only by your patriotic pride!

Lets see.....topic is Canada and Militaria......

(1) I am a collector of the 1941 Johnson rifle. A large number were brought to Canada in the 1950s (Dutch surplus) and they ended up being sold into the US market. You guys ever see those up there? Very interesting design by which I am forever bedazzled.

(2) Big Dodge M37 (Power Wagon) fan. The Canadian military version is seen here once in awhile - larger engine than they used here in the US military. Great parade truck.

Best to all.

Hey Rack Grade , my name is Robert what is yours ? Up here in Canada we also appreciate the Johnson . As a matter of fact i am also a fan. I visited with the nice museum at the Crossroads in Virginia this summer and saw one there very well displayed. Kind of like mine except i have spare barrels and one of them is in .270 Win . Nice for deer season in november . O' Canada ...

Hal from NJ here!

You are a fortunate man to have extra barrels - scarce as hens teeth here. But then, sadly, so is hunting....too densely populated in NJ.

I am blessed to have two Johnsons in full military configuration, one MilTech restoration and two Winfield Johnsons with sporter stocks. Looking for a couple of original military front sights if you know any sources, and I was just in touch with a guy who is going to manufacture a run of walnut stocks for 1941 Johnsons - a thing needed around here since so many of the original stocks are now cracked at the wrist. Hope yours is in tact.

I see the 41 Johnsons occasionally at gunshows and at local museums. Many owners do not realize they need to pin the rotary magazine to the Canadian requirement of 5 rounds. They are not exempt.

Hi Al from Jersey . I am Robert and an addict to ... Johnsons. I will look in my spare parts box for you tonight . I would be interested in a new stock . Mine is OK i guess but it still has cracks at the usual places . It is in all military configuration . No shit Rob. We have to pin that sucker ? Canadian laws relative to historic military artifacts stink . But Rob . ... don't say that to me please !

I passed up a refinished Johnson with a pitted bore for over two bills a few years ago. It would fit the collection, but not that quality for that price. I don't think any Johnsons have acceptable bores.

I don't think anyone remembered the Johnson when they were writing the Regulations <Part 4 of http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/regulations/SOR-98-462/FullText.html>. The only other rotary magazine rifles most people think of are Savage 99s. The Garand, Lee Enfield and a scant few others (like the artillery Lugers) are exempted by name.
