Hi Mike, Yes I checked the parts book again. The spacer (if I have the right one) is a 1794274. This is not used on the 8 or 15 models. So I must have a plate for one of these. I hope someone could back me up on this.
About my motor, I have had the crankshaft balanced from the harmonic balancer to the fly wheel & pressure plate. The pistons (cast iron NOS) & rods were difficult, 6+ ounces on some. I notice you have some Morris commercials, I have an LD5, have had LD2s as well, a fleet of them over the years. I have many spare parts, but don’t know how much would be compatible with what you may have. I have given my last one a ground up restoration. Mine have Austin engines. I have had some that had crash boxes,& others with the Austin Gipsy syncro 4WD English army box. Ken Thomas. Chev C60 Morris LD5 |

I guess you know about the Morris Commercial club, based in the UK. They have a web site and forum, but the forum is pretty much dead in the water .
I think the LD5 was a van ? Ambulances and Mr Whippy ice cream ? Not sure about that spacer , you need feedback from another C60 owner . Your engine should run like a swiss watch after all of that balancing ![]()

Not withstanding possible variations between Cdn and Aust build Chev CMP's, Ken, my Canadian Master List shows only one bolt length for the Engine Front Mounting for the 60-cwts: No. 3652729 3/8" x 24 by 2" length.
Two different plate assemblies were used, however. 1st: No. 1795565 2nd: No. 5269554 Only one Spacer shows up: No. 1794274 No good pictures of any of it, sadly. Hope this helps. David |

I would imagine that the spacer would affect the alignment of the fan to the fan cowling which might limit your options.

Don't they have coil springs under the crossmember? The size of the spring would affect the bolt length.

Hey Ken
I have a C15A and my mount has the long bolts like yours in the left picture, not sure if you found pictures of spacer or anything but I am attaching pictures of what mine looks like and it is the reason the bolts are so long. Gary
