We might be getting a little confused, Harle.

For your particular CMP, both the front marker lights on the wings and the convoy lamp mounted underneath the rear of the vehicle, should be the early pattern conical, black rubber. To the best of my knowledge, all early, Canadian built CMP's for British Contracts were built using these conical rubber marker lights.

If your CMP has the Lucas style lights fitted, two possibilities: (1) they were changed late in service life in the British Army for some reason, or, (2) they were changed in civilian life. My guess would be (2). The Lucas style lights on the wings might be easier to adapt to turn signal lamps than either the early or late pattern CMP marker lights.

Hope this helps,

David
