Hi Darren and Phil.
Not Southern Command, which at that time was a silver Southern Cross on a Blue shield surmounted by a white crown, on a grey background. What we are seeing is all Northern Command: Formation: Blue Maltese Cross with gold crown superimposed, all on a white background: Northern Command. Unit: N is Northern Command, 828 is a Command Provost Company, so the Military Police company of Northern Command. 'MP' is, obviously, Military Police. Dates from the 1950s. The Formation sign was first promulgated in October 1952, and the unit sign from May 1953. Regards Mike |
