I realise living so close to Normandy and the invasion beaches that its easy to say but anyone who has always wanted to visit it really is the best and biggest open air museum in the world and I highly recommend it as there is so much to see not to mention paying respects to those who fell on June 6 and there after.

Rob, Interesting machine towing the 17pdr, looks like an adapted ammo carrier from a crusader hull perhaps?. Someone will know.

I believe it is a Crusader II 17 Pdr tractor with wading sides attached pretty much how it came off the landing craft. I think only a small number of crusaders were converted to the 17 pdr tractor role although armour is not my strong point so I'm sure I will be put right !!!

Do the Crusader and the Covenanter use the same track and suspension?

Going by its census number, the last digit is hidden, it falls in a group of numbers allocated to Crusader III, T125118 to 127269

No. Crusader has five road wheels each side; Covenanter has only four. Covenanter was originally known as A13 Mk III and has the same suspension as A13.
