This must refer to M38A1 since the November 1952 entry notes that M38 production ended Nov.27, 1952 and M38A1 F-200041 had been produced by end of November. I interpret the entry as inferring that M38A1 production started Nov.11, 1952. So the question is a total of 750 M38A1 or 41+ 750= 791 M38A1? Further handwritten notes says "see Jan. 1953 records. Last 224 jobs with short dipstick" but nobody has come up with a copy of the 1953 records yet. Also a reminder that the date that Ford built a vehicle does not correspond to the "Delivered Date" on the serial data plate. I have been looking for information about the CFR/CAR number for my 1953 M38A1. Regarding Brian's question in the above post, I believe the answer is: There were at least 791 M38A1's built. I say this because my jeep is serial number F-200024.
Im still trying to match this jeep up with a CAR number. There is nothing stamped on the frame that I have found... yet (could be buried under the paint).
