Hello Ryan,

Is the 109 in the photographs your Series 2A? Or is it one you have seen somewhere else - if so where?

Kind Regards
Lionel

Hi Lionel,
It's mine. I also have another canopy for it that features the 3 tone camouflage too.
Here is a pic of one in service.

Hello Ryan,

Here is a two photographs of my Land Rover Series III Fitted For Radio that has a similar coat of paint to your 2A.

You should change your signature line to S2A x 2 ... edit - I went back to your first post where you introduced your two new projects - yes Land Rovers are like rabbits and keep multiplying.

Kind Regards
Lionel

Lionel that's great. Do you know the history of it? Must be ex-3 bde too. Is it a runner? Mine currently is not and won't be for awhile. Other vehicles to attend too first.

And yes, land Rovers and accessories are like rabbits.

Hello Ryan,

My Series 3 fits the description of being an ex - 3rd Brigade Operational Deployment Force (ODF) Townsville vehicle. I am not sure if you are a member of REMLR however there is a link about the special paint job our vehicles have. According to the site it dates back to January 1983 when the paint scheme was changed in to the: Pink, Brown and Tan. Have a look at this site and scroll down a long way - Accessed March 14th 2016 from, http://remlr.com/paint.html

I have no radio stuff including the 24 volt alternator. The engine probably needs a rebuild as it has a smoking issue. Plus a starter motor that I need to swap to see why the one fitted to it fails to have enough grunt to turn the engine over.

It was fitted with a ute roof by one of the previous owners. Luckily I have all the canopy parts if I feel the need to go all authentic in the future. The vehicle needs the brakes sorted out - new wheel cylinders. It did run quite well before the starter motor packed it in. Apart from the smoky engine that is. I need to do a compression test once I get it running again.

I just need to get the factors of available time and available money to be in alignment so I can work on it again

From what the previous owner told me I am the third owner after it was sold off at Auction in Brisbane. It turns out that the first ex-Army owner was a mate of the 2nd owner whose son sold it to me.

Kind Regards
Lionel

Default workshop

I fitted my workshop with a newer rear canvas to replace the rather worn one on it.
