Default Pulley

Hi Dale , was that the pulley type that is screwed onto the armature and somebody did not realise this and put a puller onto it to remove it and broke it.
There are several types, which one are you looking for. Don't worry I have done this before to myself!

Thanks Andrew for the reply . I'm not sure my auto guy pulled it apart to convert to 12Volts I'll find out if it's the threaded type or a key way the outer pulley edges where already broken when I gave it to him . Dale

Dale, not too sure which pulley that part number relates to.

There are pulleys that have a key way and some that screw on. There are also two different diameter pulleys, large and small. The smaller diameter was so that the generator spun quicker and cut in or charged quicker, ideal for vehicles doing short stop & start trips.

The pulleys also have a different depth to them (measured from the fins to the belt(s)) groove, depending on application, for belt alignment.

They are also very thin in the casting and after 60 years, often break like that one. I have a couple of broken ones....

Thanks Darrin .Here are some more photos I thought this would be easy . Any way this is the gen and pulley as Colin sent me with the motor not sure if it was the one that It run with on the motor , seams to be the same V grove as the water pumps and lines up OK . 118 mm across . back of fins to centre of inside pulley is around 20 mm as fins are broken I'm sure its the pulley with key-way and 17 mm shaft I'll know soon when my Auto guys get back to me . Dale

Number is 78- 10130- 0

Hope it is what you are after. Knowing what you have already gone through, I won't pull it apart but send the whole genny and pulley to you.

I will get a freight price from 'pack and send' for you if that is what you want to do.

No, I don't want anything for it. I have been helped by many on MLU so it is my turn to reciprocate.

Regards Rick.
