Hello Folks,
sketch-1454192866856.jpg What are these two brackets for, and can you please post a photo of whatever that item is? In all the photos I have, none show what should be there. Really wanted to do a bit more work on the shield pieces today but I don't think I will be getting any progress today. We finally have some good rain, and it's still falling. Three inches in last 48hrs or so. Sounds impressive? Not by comparison with other places nearby, that have had more than double that amount. At least our grass will get a rejuvenation. Grass shouldn't go crunch when you walk on it.

Correction to last posting, re rainfall. Another 2" of rain (50mm) has fallen since I wrote previously. Now I understand why the ants have been so determined to climb on anything that has some height. I attempted to drive to the shop a few minutes ago, for a paper.

I subscribe to a weather monitoring and alert service, and have just received an "amber" alert for high winds & heavy rainfall. It had stopped when I headed off to the shop, but has now restarted again. You could see it moving closer and closer. img_20160131_125748-resized-960.jpg Only one 'person' isn't phased with all the precipitation. Caramel, the chocky labrador, simply collected all her toys and went to bed! Don't think I'll be doing anything worthwhile outside today!

Hi Tony, I think this is what you are looking for.
Large tool box on the trail and small tool box on the shield.

Excellent! Many thanks, Euan.
They are exactly what I wanted to see. $_12 (24).JPG $_12 (26).JPG $_12 (25).JPG In addition to the zero plate and block that will be coming from Rob, I finally got a genuine WWII aussie shovel that is the correct height I need. Different handle to what I had been looking for, but is marked A&F P & Co. with the D^D as well, and I think it should look fine.....once I clean and paint the metal, and sand & stain the timber. Getting there slowly.

Good on ya, Phillip, thanks!
I have a local disposals store that is owned by a really nice fellow, and I will take those measurements and Euans photos to him. He can scan his incoming Army boxes orders and let me know if something comes up. There is another disposals store about 90min away, that has some of the more exotic/rarer items. I can feel a drive coming on!

Gents,
Is this the correct gun rule? Gum_Rule.jpg If so, I have found one for sale ![]() Looks complex to decipher. Real nerd territory. If not, forget what I just said ![]() T

Hello everyone. The No.5 Sight Illumination Apparatus came in with the 18Pr Mk.IV circa 1918-1920. Has anyone seen any made pre 25 Pounder production?
The 18Pr IV and 18/25Pr on Mk. IV carriage Illustrated Parts Lists show the stowage box with a 1920 makers pate. I have another Australian 1942 made unit that I picked up recently. I would happily trade for anything made in the 1918 to 1920s period. That may be of interest if someone with an early box but wanted something WW2 dated for a 25Pr Mk.II. The No.5 units of any date are remarkably hard to find. I think I have seen three come up since I started looking in 1995. The ones I missed out on were in auctions but went for eye watering money at the time. Fortunately mine turned up in a Lloyds auction where typically they separated the apparatus from the trail storage box, but it was not cheap. Looks like the underbidder knew exactly what he was after. |

There were a few sets in the Lloyd auction of Rod Bellars stuff. That was a really poorly lotted sale with some amazing bargains to be had. Living the other side of the planet took the shine off somewhat!

The lighting kit that came with the one I bought wasn't perfect, but fortunately I already had a spare lighting kit I bought from one of the guys on the forum, so between the two I made a complete one. |
