Hi Gilles!
The jeep has some features typical of the Canadian 1952 contract jeeps. Can you see if it has a CAR number on the front frame horn? It would be interesting to know what the number was! Thanks! |

There was a plate mounted on the frame and it said:
Vehicle repair data plate Vehicle number: 51-33264 Chassis number: 38442 Rebuilt: 5, 58 Wskp 23BW There is still another plate and it might be covering something and at the moment I don't have the time to look. Too many other things going on. Gilles

That's Really Neat!
Its one of the early Jeeps that we acquired in 1951. Its actually the lowest Serial Number that I have in my list and the second lowest CAR! It was used overseas by the rebuild plate showing it was rebuilt by 23 BW in Germany. I have a still that I grabbed from some cinefilm on the net showing A very fresh 51-33269 being used by the R22R in Germany in 1959. Yours may have been with the VanDoos as well. These Early M38's all seemed to go to Europe! A very interesting Jeep! Thanks for the info Gilles and good luck with the sale! Last edited by Jason Ginn; 31-08-15 at 02:59. Reason: txt |
