That's a shame.... Yes, that's the effect of wind on soaked, old & tired canvas (been there, done that).
Have been looking for one myself, but have not come across a usable 2nd hand one till now. I guess I will be buying one from John & Mary Worthing canvas.

Any leads where i can buy a 4x4 tarp while i'm saving for a beautiful John&Mary canvas?

Try http://www.legertenten.com/index.php...s-dekzeil.html for real canvas tarps, both in green and khaki/sand colour.
