The "Chinese" Marmon-Herringtons were NOT ordered by China but by the US in a later stage than the KNIL order. Of course the two orders must have messed up fragile production processes within the MH company! So there were two orders of light tanks to MH: one KNIL of 234, one US (to be handed out in China) of 240! Both orders were fullfilled/completed. No KNIL tanks were shipped to China: Remember after deliveries to KNIL in Dutch East and West Indies, to Australia and after LL deliveries to Latin-America, hardly any MH tank remains unaccounted for. Cheers, Nuyt Overvalwagens! |

Ron,it was recovered by 36 Service Battilion and it's been moved indoors inside the secure area.My understanding is that is their game plan. Also, there are more still buried in the area where they found it,as the Americans used some as range targets when the M3 Stuarts arrived.

Thank for the translation, I am at loss when it comes to Chinese. This is the translation John came up with, it is pretty close to what you said: Quote:

Here are better photos of my data plate:
IMG_7952.jpg The rear side has pencil marks. As far as I can make out what is written, it says “Donald Trudeau” “4/4/56” “DO NOT CUT” [Illegible] IMG_7954.jpg
