Don't have any history on this jack. Came to me from a friend in Victoria about 15 years ago. I spun it up and then back down with a battery powered driver and it moved smoothly both ways but I didn't try it under a load. No idea why it is painted red since that's how it came to me.
Think I also still have two NOS LP2 carrier rear brake cable housings with fittings on the ends. Can dig around if they are of any interest. Also have a British 4-ton jack as used with British/Canadian carriers, Bedford trucks, and the Daimler Dingo and other armoured cars. Has the square base plate that fits the Dingo driver side fender.
