Shane,

The box you asked about many moons ago (with the twin swing lids), is an ammunition container for Polsten drum magazines. They appear to be of GM-H manufacture: never seen anything but.

Cab 12 Portees in Australia: two types, those manufactured for British Contracts in Canada, and imported via the ME, and the Australian version of thre same vehicle, manufactured in Australia. There are many small differences, but the stand-out feature is the angle of the stowed gun wheels: Aust are vertical, Brit/Can are angled.

Most Aust Portee bodies were removed and a GS body mounted in, I think, early 1944, to help overcome a shortage of tactical load carriers.
