Nice pics Shane, an excellent collection of vehicles. That's a very good price for Bob's truck too if it is correct.

I think its a 5-inch 54 calibre: the armament on the Perth Class Guided Missile Destroyers (US Charles F Adams Class, modified for Australia). HMAS Perth, Brisbane and Hobart. Now all retired and disposed of as dive reefs.

It's a Naval round only. The turret system is automatic - push the firing trigger down in the Gun Plot room and it just keeps banging away until the magazine guys cry 'enough' and stop feeding it or the finger is taken off the trigger. It's a joy to watch the turret mechanicals up close.

The last is a throttle or choke knob for a Ford SV V8 - standard on many pre-war and wartime Ford trucks and lorries, including your cab 12. Should have 'T' or 'C' engraved/stamped into the face of the knob.

Default Instrument cluster decals

In reply to your enquiry, the instrument decals are available from macsauto.

The first photo shows the speedometer decal. Macs sells that one individually, so you would need to spring for another $9.95 to buy the set as in second photo. The speedo decal in that set is not what you want (unless cab 12 is different to mine).

Search macsauto under Pickup 32-47, and look under Interior Parts and Trim.
Highly recommend you have a signwriter or window tint guy apply them professionally. You wont get any bubbles out if not 100% application first go. I did signwriting years ago, so no prob for me.

Would have replied via PM, but couldn't attach the two photos that way.

Your timing is not good. Two days ago I ordered a few hundred dollars worth of parts from macs. Could have included the decals with that order, and saved you a crippling shipping cost. Suggest you find some other parts you will want in future, to make it worth your while.

Thanks Tony for the quick feedback. I will have to check if this was the same as mine or not. I guess im about to find out how costly freight is. Cheers again mate very kind of you.

Mike C thanks mate i have been offered the shell at $125 but think i will put funds towards the Cab 12 instead. Can buy on behalf of other people if there is a want for it, in fact he has two.

Default a trick to applying decals...

to apply these decals I have been informed and used to great success, Windex glass cleaner.
Prepare the gauge face so that it is clean (as if for painting), spray liberally with Windex window/glass cleaner, peel backing off decal and apply decal. With the Windex on the gauge face you can move the decal into the correct position, move air bubbles out and when happy with position, allow the Windex to evaporate away leaving the decal firmly in place.

I have done my Ford gauges this way and am happy with the results.

On another matter a great day at the museum volunteering to look after the kids and adults in the WW2 Universal Carrier.(I have the all important orange vest on) Cant wait to get my project done so she can go along side all these great military Vehicles. Money on the day was raised for Angel Flight, so it was for a good cause.

Lads im also after a fuel and temp gauge for the cab 12 if anyone has them laying around. New decals are on the way fro Macs auto, i will not be to worried if the gauges dont work as i will have modern gauges in the truck. The only original working part of the cluster will be the speedo so please get in touch thanks lads
