Hi Gordon.
I don't personally know of any Amphibian Tractors T33 in Australia. As far as I know there are none in existence here but not having actively sought after them I could be wrong.
The nearest LVT1s that I am aware of are/were on Gasmata on the south coast of New Britain. There were dozens of them laying in the jungle, they had all been thoroughly stripped of all mechanicals and were rusted to the extent that they were beginning to collapse. That was around 40 years ago.
The only thing that I have appertaining to these vehicles is an original copy of TM 9-784 and it doesn't contain any images of the data plates.
Has the vehicle in the photos been recovered? If so what has become of it?
They are a fascinating first step in the development of amtracs.

David
