That is great Peter. I suppose with the 1944 Ford Motor Company marking and extra width those wheels would have been manufactured for the second series Ford Canada produced Windsor Carrier.

I'm not heavily into Carriers, but the next wheel I started to clean up had the same markings, even the date, so they must have been knocking these out in some volume.

Peter, I would not assume that the date was changed on a daily basis, rather that it was the date that the mould pattern was made/ finished/ commissioned.

On a lot of our engines, castings are dated daily or weekly, not unusual in those days, less so now.

A lot of stationary engines date back pre-WW1.

I'll check the others and see what's on them as well.

All seem fairly late in the war as well, probably why they survived scrapping etc.
