Hi Blair, welcome to MLU and the wonderful world of CMP ownership! Look forward to some pics of your project in due course. Here's a few of the reverse gear lockout mechanism, which is commonly missing or rusted solid after decades outdoors. You'll probably have to find a complete gear lever, try posting in the Wanted section here. Something else I'd recommend is a Ford workshop manual, they crop up on ebay occasionally or someone here may have a spare copy. Cheers, Tony
