Default What's up?

Does anyone know why the tank was slipping out of gear? Is this indicative of a faulty transmission/selector? Is it a fault to which the Chieftain is prone or is it perhaps a peculiarity of the vehicle whereby before tackling a steep hill there is some additional action that must be taken that is known only to the initiated?
