Are the stencils original? Shaun had a thread a little while ago showing some he found on a MK2. It might be nice to take some pictures of the museums one and post on that thread if you get a chance?

It all helps everyone with a MK2 get the details right.

Very nice example showing the late modification using Ford CMP truck front bumper "D" rings installed on the rear vertical upper armour. The lift rings are mounted inside the rear compartment where they did not interfere with stowage over the differential cover, or when the Canadian No. 2 FT WASP rear exterior mount flame thrower fuel tank was installed.

The correct headlight, i.e., the headlamp that was installed at the factory in Canada is similar to, but usually not the same as that found on the Ford CAB 11 or CAB 12 CMP trucks. Note the wiring differences and part numbers. Subtle, but different. As "never" and "always" does not apply to wartime production, you could substitute the more common and easier to acquire CAB 11-CAB 12 lamp shell if you thought it was necessary to return to factory standard. But who is to say the Brits did not replace that headlight during service life prior to the carrier being disposed of ?

Thank you, that's valueable information. It's not easy to find out how the carrier looked when it left service, and what civilian modifications were done. I have attached a picture showing how it looked the day it was found, the headlight is not painted the same color as the rest of the vehicle, indicating that it was replaced after leaving service. It seems to be of Swedish manufacture.

Most of the stencils are original, all except the "sling here" stencils. I will post photos in Shaun's thread.
