Well, I'm mortar fired!
I thought you guys would have been the first to howl down anyone that applied a timber finish to vehicle components that were only ever painted. What next? Troop seats? Cargo box floors? Entire wooden cargo bodies? As somebody once commented when confronted with a lacquered steering wheel on a military vehicle.'It's not a bloody boat!' Stunned of Woodend. ![]()

I think we're in the same page. Of course the wooden parts on army trucks were painted brown / green / tan etc. in WW2, and that's how I like to see it - even though I love the look of wood grain and texture. Clear coated wood just doesn't belong on an army truck. Hanno
