Default Us m35

CFR 37735 was a 1978 US M35. It was one of two, the other was a 1979.

Rob,
In light of Ed's post on the CFR, can I get a scan of your poster, or a photo without any glare?

Further to the search for MLVW PMO pubs, I had a look downstairs tonight and managed to find one more, so I now have issues no 3 and 4 available for you Clive. But somwhere I know I have the whole works of them in a binder, where they move on to the Iltis and even touch on the HLVW.

While looking I also stumbled onto the 1-1/4 ton truck bulletins for the 1976 gas 5/4 tons. I have issues no 3, 4, 5 and 6 if you ever decide to write about these un-interesting trucks.

Rob,
That's great news. I am really looking for issue #5 (on the Iltis) but ultimately am trying to get copies (or scans) of every edition.
Stuff can be sent to; PO Box 33071, Ottawa, ON K2C 3Y9

Could this be the other one brought up for trials: here is a shot from an article in an old EME journal of a "MLVW under test at LETE----Summer 1980". The CFR is 37730. The truck exhibits no Canadian modifications aside from the shelter and the CFR plate that I can see. Edited to add: It would appear the exhaust is on the wrong side for an American M35. It is possible this truck has been modified to the 8.2 liter engine already, with a stack type exhaust which was later changed.

The article talks about 5 pre-production prototypes. I wonder if these prototypes are the modified US trucks.

As well I have attached a shot of my MLVW as it sits now, although there is that white stuff all over it again, as happens every year around this time.

Another MLVW MOST bulletin fell out of my bookcase today. This one covers modifications for the MLVW, introduces the ILTIS, and touches on the start of the 5 ton replacement project. It is bulletin no5: did you need this one?

I also have the EME journal from sometime around 1980 which covers the MLVW project. I can loan you that as well if you want.

Absolutely!! MOST #5 was an issue that I have been looking for. A future project is the MLVW so all info is welcome.
Cheers,

Clive,

I've still got that "Interim Operators Manual" for the MLVW for you. We'll have to cross paths at some point so I can pass it to you.
