Hi Steve/Alex, I couldn't imagine you would get anything like that at a plumbers store but I did try to get a threaded pipe that I could use and I took in a cap. There was nothing like it here. As far as getting stainless steel ones done, I see no reason for the extra expense seeing that some of the ones I have are 70+ years old and still in excellent cond. I have some that are swaged but the majority are just as I've done them. Not and easy thing to swage them unless you made a die press tool or you had a good quality swage and jenny machine ( I'll get 1 one day)
Dale, would you like me to get some new rubber tracks for the carrier as It would be a shame to mark that lovely slab and by the way, "nice job" I hope to cast the date in it.
Colin.

The sides are only about 1.2m so you shouldn't have any problems. I gave the tanks the first coat of primer today and I'll do another tomorrow. Here's a few shots of 2822 and I just love the inguinuity for the radiator support. "The old starr dropper and some fencing wire. I would not want to sit there when she boils
This must be a LP2'GT' as its got the sports steering wheel.

Thanks for the pics Colin. Seen her fair share of abuse over the years, do you know what they were using it for? By the looks of where the radiator is located, must have been somewhere with a cold climate........pleanty of heat for the driver.

Regards Nathan

Hi Nathan, I was told it was used in a rodeo for barrel racing but it became a bit dangerous and it was in a very hot area.
Newly made brake and steering rods and I grit blasted the rest of the steering components and it's all primed and ready to go.
