The plan you mention was based upon the original drawing, and not re-scaled to be anyway accurate as to the original vehicle dimensions. All we did was ensure the cam pattern lines from view to view were correct.

After all, it is a cam pattern indicator, not a drawing for a scale model.

Hi Mike
I realised that it was a camo pattern as I said in my post. The British ones are the same not very accurate but useful for purpose! I have a square on photo as I said & using your Technical Data I have worked out a scale & hopefully I can make a plan if nobody has a published one available.
May I say that your book is one of the best I have in my collection alongside my Carrier books by Nigel Watson & The Sherman by Hunnicutt. I bought it about 14-15 years ago in Wales for £8.50 & it has been well worth it. I've never seen another or any other ones in the series. I now know what the blobs of plastic are meant to be on the Tamiya kit!!

As you modellers seem to be growing in numbers, let me get back from Corowa and I will draw up some accurate measurements for you to go by. Maybe you could convince Tamiya to put out a model. I will happily let them study my truck in great detail $$$$$

Thanks, Chippyrail, for your kind words. These days, I'd like to do an improved version, as so much more info has come to light over the last 20 plus years since it was published. But other publications have priority at the moment.

The others in the series were:

Vol 2: Local Pattern Carriers 1939 to 1945 (Australian MG, 2pdr, etc)
Vol 3: Scout & Armoured Cars 1933 to 1945
Vol 4: The M113 and M113A1 APC in Australian Service 1962 to 1972

Both Vol 1 and Vol 3 have been out of print for some years.

Vol 2 and Vol 4 are still available direct from me, or you could try Russell Hadler at Barbarossa Books in the UK. It is some years since he purchased stock, but may still have some. If not, then direct from me is easy enough.

I also have a repro of the identification book 'All Friendly Vehicles' available - it was issued to allow ready identification of the types of AFVs operated by the Australian Army. Small pocket sized booklet.

I still have a few Battlegroup Leopard available too: a couple of hundred full colour images of an exercise conducted in the Northern Territory in 1994. Leopard tanks, Unimogs, Land Rovers etc etc.
