Dano, you will be disappointed. I had hoped to publish one on the M135 series but Andrew Iarocci, who wrote the M38A1 and the M37 booklets, gave up in frustration at Archives' 'security' over these postwar files. The time it took to get these Cold War files released just made it too difficult and with Andrew moving away from Ottawa the challenges just became crazy. Maybe, some day....

Hey, Dano,

While you are 'holding out' for the M135 book, I hope you are buying all or at least many of the published editions for your library as well. Publishing each book is a very large outlay of funds, and hurrying to publish the next title or even justifying the funds to do it probably depends in no small measure on how many of the last ones have sold. I know that was the case with the AMEP series my wife and I published in the early to mid-90s.

Clive has/is doing the hobby we all enjoy an enormous service by publishing the sort of titles no main stream publisher would look at. I've enjoyed everyone of the titles I've purchased and always learned something new, even if my main interest is Australian equipment usage, not Canadian.

OK: off my soap box now.....

Well, it's true that SP hasn't turned a profit yet, after 17 years of publishing books on Canadian military history as seen through its material culture. That said, as long as I have a well-paying job I don't mind subsidizing the books in order to get the information out there.
I take enormous satisfaction in bringing a new book to market, this includes the concept, working with the author, identifying images, getting the text edited (thanks Doug Knight), doing the layout and negotiating with the printers. Then comes the marketing, invoicing, packing, etc..
Over the past 17 years I have published over 65 titles. In 2002, DND honoured me with the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal and this year the Organization of Military Museums presented me with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal, so it's not totally without recognition.
Overall, the members of MLU have been super supportive, both in assisting with information and photos and with buying the finished product.
To all, thank you.
Clive

Australian, but you're forgiven, as the address might be just a little misleading.....

Glad to hear you have quite a few of Clive's books.
