Hi
I've had a small batch of the aerial base springs (TL 6782) professionally made. They are an exact copy of an original I borrowed, same gauge wire, pull strength, swivel ends etc etc. some are spoken for but I do have a few spares if anyone is interested (£20 +p&p). PM for details. ALL NOW SPOKEN FOR, THANKS FOR THE INTEREST Photo below next to an original. Mods, I posted here to keep all the parts info in one place, please move if you want it in the for sale section. Ben Last edited by Ben; 27-12-12 at 15:19. |

Following on from the spring I've had a quote for the black mushroom insulator 7/8" size to be cnc machined. I've scanned an original and produced the cutting file directly from the scan so it's 100% the same as original.
They are coming out at £75 each for the black part only, fully machined in black plastic and ready to fit the top of Nigel's aerial mount or an original. The only thing I'll leave is the hole in the centre for the metal aerial sleeve, this way you can fit an alternative if you don't have the correct fitting. I'd only do one batch, if you're interested can you let me know please. I have an original 5/8" "f" section insulator, brass cup and aerial fitting to swap for the 7/8" "D" section size parts if anyone's interested. Thanks Ben |

I have now completed another batch of 10 aerial bases. Despite my saying I would not fold and weld this lot, I have done just that.
After some tinkering today with those left ( 5 already sold) I have 5 available. The price is the same. $550 Australian dollars. This includes the cast saw tooth base bolted to the top. Freight to Europe/UK is about the $120 mark. I think USA and Canada is a bit cheaper. Nigel |

Hi Nigel,
Has anyone asked for the serated brass part (105046) that goes on the aerial mount?, Ben can get them cast but only if enough people are interested, I have an original to lend Ben to pattern from, I need one extra one, is anyone else interested?, if so p.m. me and if enough people need them then we can get them cast, I can even supply the brass and chain at no cost, if we can get some people interested, so you are only paying for the pattern and casting labour.

When the aerial is in the down position it is held in place by a hook mounted level with the division plate, its folded 4mm steel with a moulded rubber hook to protect the aerial.
I've made one copied from an original, it came out pretty well I think. I moulded it the same way as the original so the detail is correct to that. I might make a small batch if there is enough interest, see photos below of mine and an original in place. Trivia fact of the day, the Universal had the hooks facing in whereas the Scout and AOP MK1 had them facing out. Ben |
