That first pic of your carrier looks great kevin (not your usual carrier style pic) it was a hoot i must admit, i honestly thought we would have ended up with two bogged in carriers but you guys gave the modern lot a run for their money.....cant wait until next year, i just need to work out logistics and the small fortune that it will take to get my carrier there next year.

Looks like a fun way of making the best of the muddy situation you guys had at the show this year. I've washed my carrier suspension twice now and it is still grubby from our last event driving through muddy slop.

Great show the mud was half the fun to all those who attended and enjoyed themselves.

Default mud

Hi, the best thing I have found is spray on cooking oil (Pam et al) spray the undercarriage before going into the field then the mud just falls off. Make sure you liberally coat the exhaust too, so that when it burns off it smells like someone is cooking lunch.
Cheers,
Dave

That sounds like an interesting solution. The rubber on the road wheels would look glossy and new like they had been prepped with armour all for a car show

As it sits, there is clay residue on the wheels and lower suspension. Looks fairly clear after a wash while still wet, but then it dries whitish in color. Comes from driving through soupy muck following the two Shermans and a Stuart that we were running with. They tended to churn up the mud puddles a bit more than our own carrier would have done on its own.

The mud at W&P looks cleaner if that makes sense. The type that will dry in chucks and drop off once you drive it again.

Hi David,

Beltring mud is terrible stuff. Once dry it hardens and becomes cement. It also penetrates your semi-gloss or matt paint and will never come off again.
Repainting is the only solution. That is why I left my Carrier and Dingo at home this year.

Cheers,

PAM is aerosol canola oil. It has been mentioned as a cheap mold release agent for fibreglass rifle bedding compounds (although I wouldn't trust it that far). If sprayed biodegradeable cooking oil protects paint work, maybe there is a market for it with the other offroad communities .... $$$$

The rain & mud didn't seem to keep people away on the Wednesday when I was there.

Some of the outlying camps were a bit tricky getting to, even for landrovers. These two needed the dozer to pull them free.

Not much mud on the carriers yet.
