One participant that most wouldn't have seen:

A Vietnam vet "birddog" aircraft.

Something we have all overlooked when considering a future change of the swap meet to the showground (irrespective of weather).

Hopefully most people are home from the event by now. Shortly I will post a list of the vehicles at the event.

Looking at the number of preregistered participants for 2013 the KVE Committee are certain next year will be a very large event. If you didn't get a chance to complete your entry for 2013 you can mail it to me anytime. It makes it easier if you forward them early so this will give us a better idea of the number of participants and vehicles to expect. We should be able to apply for another Corowa Tourism Grant for 2013 and we are already discussing the promotional items we might like to organise. It will be Year of the Towed Equipment and Year of the Armoured Car

Default Somewhat excellent

Having been unable to attend again for various reasons since 1998 I would like to take this opportunity to thank KVE and all those involved in making Corowa 2012 happen (despite the weather)

I spent the entire time catching up with old friends, meeting fellow MLUers in person and making new contacts.

I also want to thank all those who welcomed me back 'into the fold' so to speak.

I will definately be attending next year and beyond. Afterall it's only about 6000km round trip so no excuse will be offered and I will bring one of my military vehicles next time.

Cheers

Phill

Default Corowa 2012

Wow still can't believe it's all over, we had a busy 2 and a bit weeks to get the blitz to resemble a truck, I new it was going to be a struggle but it was worth it couldn't have made it with out the generous help from Euan McDonald who kindly loaned some bits to help finish it off. I was an adventure from the time we left home till the time we returned home. Thanks to all the KVE and volunteer personnel to make this event happen at times no doubt trying, both dad and I couldn't be made more welcome, and to receive the encouragement award was fantastic. Keith there's a set of keys here for it when ever you want to go for a spin

At Corowa people were given an opportunity to nominate a theme for 2016. The final decision was Year of the Chrysler 2 (Dodge). Hopefully Keith Webb will be able to do a DVD on this event as he was unable to make it in 2004 when we had the first Year of the Chrysler (Dodge).

To give people plenty of notice the themes for the following years are:
2013 - Year of the Trailed Equipment and Year of the Armoured Vehicle
2014 - Year of WW1 and Year of the Ford
2015 - Year of the Emergency Vehicle and Year of General Motors
2016 - Year of the Chrysler 2 (Dodge)

It is nice to hear the positive comments and Richard, our KVE editor will be including these in our next KVE newsletter.
