Default Certainly is

Yes it certainly was a cut down matilda. In fact if I'm not mistaken it belonged to a friend Max in southern NSW (near Holbrook) which was still working until about 15 years ago. I can't remember what the engine was in the beast now...

I may be in that area soon and will call in and see how he and his wife are and maybe get a contemporary pic if the machine is still there.

The vehicle and the owner were well known to the movement but I had not seen the footage before.

I traced the hull number and details years ago and it turned out the Matilda had once served with my former unit (1/15th RNSWL) during ww2 when it was known as 1st armoured.
