I ran the same Ford V8 in my SnoGo, and although it was a nice V8 sound, the setup of the whole engine was a little Heath Robinson to me - and as for having water pumps as engine mounts - and bolts down the centre of the water pump bore - sigh.
My garage is all Dodge / Chrysler straight six now - at least I understand them, and properly set up they can be Swiss-watch quiet. Nice to see this one going though. I assume complete and loaded with all the kit it would be at least a little quieter. Gordon

Gordon they are Bl**dy noisy inside, but very quiet outside (when driving on grass). Richie is right all you can hear is the consant clatter of the track and roar of the fan.
Its back on with the work now the fun of the first run is over.

Shaun,
Great work in a record time! So, this is carrier no.[?] which you have restored after literally digging it up? Good to see you've left the rust pitting - she's an experienced girl who wears her age with pride, eh? Hanno

Shaun,
Great work! I just stumbled onto this thread today and got to enjoy your year's worth of labor in 15 minutes. Hats off to you and others that save these rigs that are in very tough shape! ![]() Chuck |
